Philadelphia is alive with ghosts and your guide knows where they hide. This evening walking tour takes you through the dark side of Old City: yellow fever epidemics, gun duels, horrific injuries, and the restless spirits of men and women who never quite left. Frightening, funny, and historically rigorous. Not recommended for the faint of heart. You must be over the age of 14 to take this tour.
What You’ll See
- City Tavern — Once the heart of Philadelphia society and now the place where only the dead convene.
- Dock Creek — The Merchants Exchange building looms over Dock Street, a cobblestone lane concealing a legacy of misery.
- Former Home of Alexander Hamilton — At the former site of Hamilton's house, ponder whether his ghost still lingers, haunted by his own personal missteps.
- Carpenters' Hall — Hear about the country's first major bank robbery and the long-dead men who may not have left.
- Dolley Todd House — The site where future First Lady Dolley Madison endured devastating loss.
- Robert Morris Statue — A Founding Father with a tragic family legacy.
- American Philosophical Society — Founded by Ben Franklin. Is it haunted by the men and women he wronged?
